Project Objective:
The goal of this project was to create a mini booklet using expressive typography and graphic principles of visual design, such as closure, figure-ground reversal, and hierarchy.
Initial Pencil Sketches
I began by sketching out ideas on paper, producing many ideas within a short time-frame and developing the strongest ones.
major digital iterations
I began with simple explorations as to how I wanted to represent the meaning of the words through expressive typography.
I then explored more detailed and  ways to expand upon the meaning of the words through expressive typography.
I also tried exploring what graphic shapes and layers could communicate, sticking with ellipses to help tie in with the haiku itself.
Final Submission
The final class submission included a front cover, back cover, and 3 two-page spreads. Each page must have a cohesive system with each oytjherf, but also be able to stand by alone.
